As a player in the Riverside Youth Basketball program, I understand that participating is a privilege, and I commit to representing my team, school, and community with pride.
I show up ready to grow. I will attend all scheduled practices, listen to my coaches, follow directions, and give my best effort in every practice and game.
I am a supportive teammate. I will encourage my teammates, work cooperatively to solve problems, and remain loyal to my team.
I treat everyone with respect. I will treat my teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials with dignity. I will accept the decisions of referees without arguing or showing anger.
I represent my program everywhere. I will lead by example at practices, at games, and in my community.
As a parent or guardian, I recognize that my attitude directly impacts my child’s development and the culture of Riverside Youth Basketball.
I model positive sportsmanship. I will cheer encouragingly for all players and refrain from public displays of anger, vulgarity, or aggressive behavior toward officials, coaches, or opponents.
I let the coaches coach. I will support the coaching staff and leave decisions regarding playing time, positions, and game strategy entirely to them.
I respect the game officials. I understand that game officials deserve respect, and I will abide by their calls without complaint.
I protect the environment. I will only approach coaches with positive comments before or after games, holding any concerns for a private, appropriate time.
At Riverside Youth Basketball, we view conflict as a learning opportunity to teach young athletes how to solve problems directly and respectfully.
Parents and players must wait 24 hours after a game or practice before raising a concern or negative feedback with a coach.
Concerns regarding coaching, playing time, or team dynamics should be emailed directly to the coach after this cooling-off period, maintaining a respectful and solution-focused tone. If a concern remains unresolved 48 hours after contacting the coach, the issue may be escalated to the Riverside High School Boys or Girls Varsity Basketball Coaches.
The 24-hour waiting period does not apply to immediate player safety concerns, unlawful activities, or severe Code of Conduct violations. These urgent issues should be reported immediately to riversideyouthbasketball2026@gmail.com.
